    This ride was planned on short notice with an early morning meeting. We took a direct route to Cades Cove in order to beat the daily tourist rush. Even so, there was a small amount of congestion when we first started the loop and then again about the half way point. One person in our group counted 60 deer.
    After the ride, we stopped at Smokin' Joe's Barbecue for lunch. Joe even came out of the kitchen to entertain the group with his stories.
    Apparently, "simple" was the best thing about this ride. It was short and sweet, and even so, we still got to see some pretty nice scenery.
