Today, Terry Elmy volunteered to give me a much needed break from leading rides and he chose to go to see the Burra Burra Mine in Ducktown Tennessee. GREAT! I have never been there, never traveled  a lot of the roads he layed out, and I did not have to worry about our route or making decisions. Just what the doctor ordered!
We left Maryville and rode to Tellico Plains via Route 360 (along Tellico Lake and through Cherokee National Forest). We had lunch at Cardin's BBQ and then followed Route 68 South to Ducktown. We toured the Museum and took pictures from the nearby Overlook before heading back. The return route was just as scenic. I always love riding along the Ocoee River and this time, we rode "downstream" which I have never done before. Once we got back to Tellico Plains, we followed Route 68 over to Madisonville and then got on Route 411 North back to Maryville where we started to split off.
Thanks to Terry and Ruth Ann for leading. Larry Johnson and Peanut....thanks to you for coming.
