We had a wonderful turnout for our Dragon/Cherohala Skyway ride on Sunday.  We had eleven people on nine bikes. Dan, John, Bobby and Debbie Smith, Patty Sterling and Don Daniels, Ned Goodman and myself rode along with three new faces, Harold Kirkpatrick, Gary Dillbeck, and Don Keller.  We couldn't have asked for a better day although John, who lives in Morristown, and Harold and Don, who rode in from the Greenville area, ran into some pretty heavy fog on their way to meet We all met at Shoneys in Maryville. Dan had the course laid out perfectly.
After we met at Shoneys we rode down south on 411 to 129 and then across the Dragon, ending up in Robbinsville where we ate lunch. Then it was on across the Cherohala Skyway.
While taking a break near the top of the Skyway we met the webmasters of the web site 'Tail of the Dragon' and they asked if they could ride along with us for a little while and film a portion of our ride.  If I understood correctly they said they were making a film for the county.  I don't know which county or why.
We rode from the Skyway through Tellico Plains to Madisonville, then north on 411 to return to Maryville.
This was Don and Patty's last day of their visit to ride with us, as they were returning to Michigan on Monday.  We really enjoyed their company this weekend and hope they will be able to return some time in the near future to go on more rides with us. We also hope Don, Harold and Gary will join us for future rides.
