Rain today? Sure started off looking good, but as he day progressed it looked more and more like rain. Actually, it did sprinkle on us a little coming home but not enough to make the road wet or even cause us to slow down. But I am getting ahead of myself.
We met at McDonalds, I-40 Exit 407 and road over to 11E via Rocky Valley. I led to Morristown and then, Dan Robinette took over the rest of the way to Kemosabee's which is located in Gray Tennessee. Dan is much more familiar with the area and he took us on some great routes that provided a lot of good scenery. We got to the Roadhouse at about 12:45 and had a good lunch. A few race fans in the group watched the race at Talledega until about 2:00 or 2:30. Realizing the weather was not looking so good, we headed back down 11W. Dan cut off at Kingsport and I cut off at Rutledge. Even though the weather forecast was not so good, we took the chance and won.
